Baker St Alterations and Additions

Adding to a single storey dwelling this two storey rear extension provided valuable bedrooms and living environments opening to the rear garden. The design explored formal and material aspects of the Arts & Crafts style of the original house. Sloping walls mirror details in the existing architraves and trims, and the use of expressed timber connections reflect the values of the Arts & Craft period. Dark stains to joinery pieces and the external timbers were developed from the timber details of the existing, used as features of colour and warmth to the light and spacious environment.
