Nullamunjie Olive Press

Located in the Tongio Valley, near Swifts Creek, this building developed from the “sheds” of the local vernacular, and the materials of the associated dwelling located on a ridge above. The roof is a large skillion, reflective of these sheds, with rammed earth blade walls guiding the visitor to its entry. A timber pergola, not only provides valuable shade from the extreme summer heat, but also a restful space reminiscent of the shaded courtyards of southern Europe. The building accommodates staff, administration and public sales & tasting, as well as insulated storage and processing facilities for the production of olive oil.
