Ozone Alterations
- The good “bones” of the existing prefabricated “shack” allowed the development of a simple holiday dwelling to a permanent home for family and guests. The design re-orientated the living areas toward the sun to incorporate passive solar design principles and a closer relationship to the external areas. Drawing on the existing form, the new roof layers in a series planes articulating the differing spaces, and increasing the light and ventilation of the habitable rooms. The simple construction methodology focused on the use of carpentry to provide an economical solution for a comfortable home.
